Hi @alexhillman!
I’m very excited to see the progress!
A couple of observations so far:
- The invited folks are granted ‘regular’ status and are allowed to invite others. Not sure if this is intentional or not. Maybe be a nice way to get friends of friends involved and create another funnel. You may want to check that invites of invites don’t end up in the 30x500 students group. See discussion from Discourse Meta thread.
You may or may not want to consider mirroring the categories from Slack to something like:
- 30x500: Book Club
- 30x500: Ebombs Away
- 30x500: Introductions
- 30x500: Launch Prep
- 30x500: Pitch Critique
- 30x500: Products
- 30x500: Succes Stories
- 30x500: Products And Tools
- 30x500: Watering Holes
- Just Fucking Ship: xxx
- Just Fucking Ship: yyy
- Site Feedback & Help
or, perhaps, mirror 30x500 Canvas to facilitate the discussions? That way you can easily map who gets access to what and within categories, you could have a pinned topics about stuff you get asked about most often, e.g. in Watering Holes, have a pinned post: “Practice Painstorming” with links to threads people could use to practice.
For inspiration, consider places that use Discourse effectively, such as Docker community or folks at Big Nerd Ranch, or Twitter community.
Great to see progress happening!
